Haiti Through Haitian Eyes by FotoKonbit

Haiti Through Haitian Eyes by FotoKonbit
Noelle Theard from FotoKonbit is raising funds for her photography project. In order to receive contributions, the project must be funded in full by 5/14/12. www.kickstarter.com From Noelle: Have you ever been to Haiti? This is your chance to support a grassroots photography project that will show you what Haiti looks like, from a Haitian perspective. In June, I will teach a photography workshop with FotoKonbit in Northern Haiti. Our students are a group of adults, both men and women from the region, and they will show you a vision of Haiti you have surely never seen, even if you have had the luck to travel there already. Haiti certainly faces many challenges, but it is also a culturally rich and dynamic country, with a long and important history. During the workshop, we will take students to photograph various historic sites in the north of the country, where Haiti's revolutionary heroes fought and won their independence. Your support will help fund a week-long photography ! workshop, and will provide equipment, cameras, film, developing, as well as food and transportation for our team and our students. FotoKonbit has two years of experience producing photography workshops in Haiti and the Diaspora. Each workshop is tailor-made for relevance to the groups we work with, therefore each workshop is different. We worked with youth in the tent communities after the earthquake of 2010. We continue to work with adults in the southern more rural town of Camp Perrin in partnership ...
